How can we help?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the best place to start if I am new to herbal medicine?

It is our belief that all healing is relational, and the best place to begin is by establishing a foundation of loving, committed relationship - to yourself, to the plants, and to supportive community. Before we became practitioners ourselves, we worked with herbalists to support our own healing journeys. We found that it took more than one session to find the safety and companionship necessary to usher in our healing. That is why we encourage all new clients to book a 3-part package. It provides us the opportunity to get to know you deeply, and offer you the allyshop that serves as we heal. It also allows us to check in on how well your custom herbal formulations are serving you, and make adjustments if necessary.

What expectations can I have when signing up for an herbal consultation?

Every body is different. And every healing journey is different. That being the case, it is nearly impossible to predict the outcome of our work together - healing often looks very different than we expect. We can assure you that you will be met with our full presence, whole hearts, and dedication to providing you a thoughtful Wellness Plan prepared with our knowledge, experience and thoughtful consideration incorporated. Whether you are seeking support to overcome chronic health issues or shift an acute symptom, we are confident that if you are open and committed to the healing process, the allyship of our care and the support of the plants will usher in positive change.

Are online appointments available through The Clinic?

They are, in fact we see most of our clients virtually due to the current state of things. We use Practice Better as an online portal. You can sign up for a session with us by booking directly through our individual bookings pages in The Clinic dropdown menu, or signing up for an account with Practice Better here (or by clicking Client Portal in the footer).

What do the package prices in The Clinic include?

Our package pricing includes our consultations and the information/resources you receive as a part of your Wellness Plan. Our Wellness Plan will be developed as a result of our initial consultation, and will include our understanding of what you are experiencing health-wise, and how we can work together through custom herbal formulation, lifestyle recommendations, nutritional support and spiritual practices to meet your individual goals. Though your herbal formulations will be stated in your Wellness Plan, the herbs themselves are not included in the cost of the packages, and can be purchased separately. We are mindful of your budget and will work to agree upon herbal recommendations that align.

What style of herbalism can I expect when I work with you?

We have studied in vitalist and western herbalism traditions, so it is our goal to always consider you and your dis-ease (as well as your healing) from a holistic perspective - your mental, emotional, and spiritual health are JUST AS important to us as your physiology. It is also our practice to seek the root cause of imbalance, and work from that place, so we will never aim to cover up symptoms, or overwhelm the body with an overabundance of therapeutics. We aim to tend your relationship with the natural world, and help you know the nature of your own healing through your belonging within and to the broader ecosystems. You can expect that you will receive a few custom herbal formulations in a variety of mediums (for example, a custom herbal tea blend, a custom body oil, and a custom bitters blend) as a result of our initial consultation, and all of those medicines will be designed to work synergystically and in resonance to create change at the root. Until we know what your goals are and what you are experiencing, we cannot know what herbs, or forms of medicine that will best serve you, but we will work together to determine what forms of medicine you are most excited about and are most likely to take regularly.

Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?

Of course you can. We want you to have time set aside for our work together that is both convenient for you and conducive to your healing, so we never want to add any additional stress. That said, we request that you try your best to make any changes to your appointment within 48 hours of your appointment time. We understand that things come up. We also hope that you will respect our schedule and time, and if you are able to make your scheduled appointment, that you will do so. If a pattern of changes and cancellations within the 48-hour window develops (2 or more times), we reserve the right to charge you the cost of your appointment as a change/cancellation fee. Thank you for understanding.

How do I take a tincture?

Tinctures can be taken in a variety of ways. You can take them straight into your mouth, on your tongue, or mixed into a bit of water, juice, smoothie, etc. There is no wrong way to take a tincture!

How do I take an oxymel?

Oxymels can be taken in many different ways. You can drink them straight, or mixed into a bit of water or sparkling water. Seeing as how oxymels are food-based medicine, we like to use them culinarily as well, adding them to salad dressings, broths, cocktails and mocktails. Truly, there is no wrong way to consume an oxymel.

Are your products gluten free?

All of our products are gluten free! Sarah has celiac disease herself, meaning she is well acquainted with the places gluten can be hiding, and requires there to be no gluten in or around the medicine making space. All of the herbs that we use are sourced from farms who do not grow wheat, barley, or rye. We use certified gluten free: organic cane alcohol, coconut-derived vegetable glycerin, raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar, raw unfiltered wildflower honey and oils.

Are your products organic?

All of our products use certified organic ingredients, but we have not been through the certification process.

Where do you source your herbs?

We’ve carefully selected farms and growers who have both incredibly stringent quality standards and share our value of stewardship and commitment to maintaining conscious and sustainable relationships with the land. All of our farms are certified organic.

What is the shelf life of your products?

We make living medicine! It is not and never will be our intention to create medicines that have an eternal shelf life. Their longevity will depend on which products you’ve chosen and how you store them. All of our products are best stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. You can expect that tinctures will remain in peak potency for 1 year, oxymels, oils and flower essences for 6 months, hydrosols 6 months to a year, and dry herbs blends for up to 2 years. We aim to capture the aliveness of the plants in our products, and we want you to be consuming your medicines consistently and regularly to see the greatest result.

Are your products safe during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding?

We recommend you consult with your trusted healthcare provider before starting a new herbal regimen if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Are your products safe to consume alongside my pharmaceutical medications?

We have mindfully selected herbs for our formulations that should not interact with or negatively impact the efficacy of your medication but that said, we do recommend you consult with your healthcare provider before starting a new herbal regimen if you are taking medication.

What is your return policy?

Due to the nature of our products, we cannot accept returns.

Do you ever offer discounts?

We definitely do. The best way to stay informed about discounts is to sign up for our newsletter.

How long will my order take to ship?

We do our best to send your orders out as efficiently as possible, typically within 1-3 business days of receipt.
